Nose

So anyone who has allergies would agree with me, grain harvest isn't the best time of the year. And everyone would agree having a cold is never any fun. But has anyone had a cold and grain harvest at the same time? It sure is great, and add two days in a row of work and you got yourself one congested head.

Today at work was a crazy day. It started our normal until about 11 o'clock when Milwaukee showed up. I was busy checking in sawzalls and hole saws until about 1. And then a truck showed up with a large order from Star Stainless. All of that order except two objects were for Alder Construction, which ment we would have to get that checked in and out of the way so when Porteous came it wouldn't be in the way. While I was trying to check the stainless in of course it was during one of busiest times of the day and Rob and Bill both had to be gone. After Alan and I survived that, the dreaded Porteous showed up (for you folks who don't know, Porteous Faster Company is the business who we order all of our bolts and other fasteners though, so of course there are always a lot of heavy boxes.)

Since I am a girl working at a hardware store, I always get the jerk guys who think I know nothing. Which I usually am good at not caring about but since I had a lot to do today plus my head that was bothering me, those guys really got to me. (by the way I am thankful I work in an air conditioned building) And then there are the guys that come in and don't know what they want so they make you run around the store while they try to figure out what they want and just confuse you in the process. There was this one man that came in while I was working on Porteous, Rob, and Alan were helping customers while Bill was talking to who knows who. So it was my turn to go help this guy. He had with him broken bolts, rusted on nuts and a whole jumble of things. I went back and found all that he told me to get (of course it was only one or two items of each). I then went and typed it all in the computer told him his total, and gave him back his change. While I was giving him his change he realized he forgot some stuff. So I got to go run around some more. Needless to say I charged the guy a few extra cents for my time and energy.

I came home dead tired and ready for bed. Since it is now 10 o'clock I think it is ok for me to go drink some night time cold medicine and call it a day.
