Number 99

So last night I went on a date with Chase Anderson. And for all of your wondering where that name is from....yes he is the boy that tried holding my had at Featherville.

Yesterday was a blasted hot day. So Colby called and convinced my dad to take him to the river. So we planned it all and I was putting my suit on when I got a phone call from Chase. Which is kind of weird because we hadn't talked for about two months. But he called to ask me on a date. Since I was going to the river I told him no. He is somewhat used to this answer from me, but it still makes me feel bad. So I got off the phone and told my mom that Chase just asked me out and I felt bad, so she told me to go on the date. And that I could go down to the river for one ride on the wakeboard and then come home and get ready.

So we had it all lined out, I had called Chase back and it was all good. Well I jump in Larry, my car, and head down to the river side bar. I turned into the first parking lot and the whole thing was packed with trucks and empty boat trailers. Of course our luck they were having a HUGE bass tournament. I finally met up with my parents and we called Ryan and Maren and told them the problem so they decided to go to a different dock. But I realized by time we got to a new dock and all situated it would be time for me to go so I just came home instead.

So I came home got in the shower, got all cute, and then they came and picked me up. We got in a huge diesel Ford pickup with two other guys. The driver was Owen Wadsworth, and Raulon Van Tassel. And if you know those to the next bit of information won't seem so strange. But we climb (yes we climbed) into the truck and first thing you could hear was church music playing, not any church music, As Sisters in Zion was the song.

We then went around and picked up the other two girls, who were Natalie Maybe, and Shelby Andersen. Then we were on our way to the Magic Valley Speedway. Since none of us knew where it was we stopped and picked up Shelbys cousin who lives in Murtagh. On the way to the races we joked that we should have dressed up white trash and taken a keg of milk.

When we got to our destination and walked into the races, we all realized our idea of dressing up would have been perfect. The crowd resembled the Cassia County Fair and Rodeo but with a few more cigarettes and beer cans. The races were fun, we only got to see one good wreck, it included flames and spilt gasoline and oil all over the track.

Every race Chase and I would pick what vehicle we thought would win. On one of the last races he picked a truck with the number 99. In the races previous that truck had done quite well. Number 99 was doing also quite well in this race also. Half way through the race three other drives decided to take number 99 out of the race. So one got in front and the other two got on the sides and caused some little problems. No serious crash though. 99 dropped out which caused Chase to lose to me. He was a little bitter about that but got over...we thought.

After the races we decided to go get some dinner at the New Chinese Buffet. After a whole lotta laughing about salty soy sauce and water, we decided it was time for us to leave. On our way out to the truck we passed a big trailer with the number 99 on the sides and back. We pointed it out to Chase who then started saying how that driver was a pansy. While a few of us were climbing in the truck, we saw a short and stout man walk up to Owen and start talking to him. The few of us who were in the truck thought it was the driver of number 99 and he had over heard us talking about him. The man ended up just being some drunk guy who the cops had pulled over and told him he couldn't drive, and since Kiki, his wife, was from some native island that didn't have cars she didn't want to drive. He asked Owen for a ride since we looked like nice kids. Owen being the gentleman he is said yes. So the girls, Raulon and Chase got out of the truck and chilled in the parking lot while Owen and Eli (shelby's cousin) took the man and Kiki to the hotel.
We ended up getting home a little later then planned, because of our little detour to the hotel. But if was a fun filled, hilarious date. The races were a blast but I don't know if it is worth paying my own way to them.

What?! You had to pay your own way into the races and it was a date?! That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard! But the part about Raulon really does not surprise me-that kid is hilarious. How's he doing? And how are you little girl? I have not seen you in quite some time. Have a happy day!

Go on another date soon so you will write. That's pretty much the only time you post! We want to know more about your life!

Sorry it did sound like I payed my own way to the races, but I didn't. I was just saying that I don't think I would go if I had to pay to get in.
